چکیده
The surgical operating microscope was introduced in the early 1920s, but it was largely ignored until 1950, when it was reintroduced by Richard A. Perritt for use in microsurgical operations in opthamology.1 The magnification and illumination provided by the microscope has resulted in its acceptance as an essential part of the surgical armamentarium. Microsurgical techniques gained widespread acceptance, primarily in otolaryngology, ophthalmology, neurology, and urology, and they play a critical role in surgery to reattach severed extremities.2-8

متن کاملHardness and Surface Detail Reproduction of Gypsum Casts Retrieved from Addition Silicone Impressions Disinfected for Different Time Points
Background and Aim: Bacterial colonization occurs following contamination of impression materials with blood and saliva. However, not all disinfecting agents are compatible with the impression materials and may cause changes in the resultant casts. The purpose of this study was to assess the impact of various immersion time of addi-tion silicon impressions in different disinfecting solutions on...
متن کاملColor Stability of Polished and Glazed Dental Porcelain in Chlorhexidine
Background and Aim: Discoloration is a major concern with regard to the use of tooth-colored restorations. Type of restorative material and surface treatment are believed to play a role in this regard. This study sought to compare the color change of glazed and polished dental porcelain after 30 days of immersion in chlorhexidine (CHX). Materials and Methods: In this in vitro, experimental s...
متن کاملEffect of Three Types of Temporary Luting Cements and Abutment Surface Sandblasting on Retentive Strength of Implant-Supported Fixed Prostheses
Background and Aim: Achieving appropriate retention and easy retrieva bility at the same time is challenging in implant-supported fixed par tial dentures (FPDs). Researchers have always been in search of a temporary cement to improve the retentive strength. The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the effect of three different temporary ce ments and sandblasting of the abutment surface on...
متن کاملMarginal fit of Zirconia posterior fixed partial dentures.
The aim of this study was to investigate the marginal fit of posterior fixed partial dentures (FPDs) made with 2 computer-aided design/computer-assisted manufacture systems--Procera Bridge Zirconia (Nobel Biocare) and Lava AllCeramic System (3M ESPE)--and to analyze the differences between abutments and between buccal and lingual surfaces. Twenty standardized specimens were prepared to receive ...
